On a routineRoutine sputum culture visit to my OBGYN,I was recently notifed that I had been possibly exposed to the herpes virus although I had not and still have not presented any symptoms for this virus. I went in for a blood and the results came back HSV 1: IgG 0.10, which i was told to be negative and HSV 2: IgG 3.02, which i was told to be positive for which i was prescribed to take 1/2 tablet valtrexdailyDaily combo Daily multiple for men 50+ Daily multiple for women Daily multiple for women 50+ Daily multiple vitamins Daily vite Daily-vite men's formula Daily-vite weight control. I began to do research within this site and read that the value of "3.02" for HSV 2 falls into a gray area for lab values and should probably be retested of a possible different reading. Is this true? I also read that a western blot test should be done in order to conform a recent diagnosis if any other test were used such as the herpeselect test. Is there a chance of possible misdiagnosis?
