COULD I HAVE HERPES? PLEEEASE READ

Okay, I've had oral herpes for the last 5 years. During this time period I've had about two outbreakes that haven't lasted long. For about one year and eight months I've been with my boyfriend and we have had unprotected sex. Although we haven't used condoms, I'm on the pill for the last two years and we are strictly monogamous, that means that we haven't had sex with ANYONE else since we have been together. The last month has been particularly stressful for me regarding my academic life. I have a cold sore inside my mouth, I think it's due to the stress, but I've also been having other symptoms. Three weeks ago I had sex with my boyfriend. The week after we didn't have sex at all. This past weekend we had sex again once. The day before we had sex I noticed that my clitoral hood was itching, but I felt nothing else. Later on the next day i noticed I had two tender bumps, but I had been scratching a lot. Then I had sex with him, had a bath and paid no further attention to them. That was on sunday. Since monday I have been really woried because those bumps started to diminish, but other 2 had formed, today one formed. On monday my cold sore in my mouth developed.

I don't know what this can be, I'm really worried. It's no longer itchy, I've seen pictures of herpes but it doesn't look the same and it's certainly NOT as widespread as those pictures look. I drank one pill of zovirax, but this didn't seem to do much. I also put some herpes ointment and it didn't seem to help as much. It did diminish them really little, but nothing big, so I stopped.

It does not itch as much as the first days. I must admit I'm not to hygenic and probably this may have caused an infection. It feels as if it could be a pimple but its not the same, its somewhat tender. It hurts a bit when I toouch it. It seems red around the edges. It is bumpy. It doesn't seem to have a center like a pimple, but it looks liek those pimples that shouldn't be popped.

It seems wierd to me because I'm EXTREMELY confident he has not had sex with someone else, and niether have I. It's really strange. What can I do? What can it be? I can post a picture if this will help with answers.

You need to be seen by a provider for HSV.  

You and your partner should be tested for HSV using a type specific igg test.  You can skip HSV-1 as you know you already have it.  

Avoid performing oral sex and kissing during a cold sore.  You knowing what your BF has and you have will be the best to know what precautions to take.  

This doesn't sound like herpes.  It could be a yeast infection.  When you see your doctor have them do a yeast/bacterial check as well.

Thank you so much for answering. Actually I think it was only a pimple that got out of hand. Some days later it developed into what it looked like a pimple, I popped it, and it went away quickly. I have no insurance and no money so I can't take any test yet :(.

Try contacting your local health department they may know of a clinic that will provide low cost testing for you or free testing.
