Can Herpes appear on your hands?

I am a 20 year old healthy straight man. While working today I noticed a fairly large red bump on my right hand. I'm worried that it may be herpes. The only think is that I have heard that usually herpes will usually appear within 2 weeks of having contracted it, and I have not had sex in over 3 months with no out breaks or any indication of having the disease. I realize that not all herpes is of the genital variety so I am wondering if I could have contracted it from other social contact such as a handshake. Please respond as soon as possible.

You are way, way overthinking this.

A bump is not herpes, they are clustered blisters. If appearing on the hand they would be most likely around a fingernail of one finger.

No need for any concerns or testing.

Thanks dude, I just got a little worried due to the bumps sudden appearance. I  did suspect that it wasn't herpes as it didn't itch or burn and its odd placement of right behind my knuckle. But a second opinion is always nice. Thank you very much.
