Can I get genital herpes during my initial outbreak of oral herpes?

Hey,

My partner and I both have HSV-1, however, I am just coming down from my initial outbreak with a cold sore still present and painful on my gums (symptoms appeared 7 days ago). I kissed her and then she gave me oral sex. Should I be worried about the herpes spreading to my genitals?

This may not be my initial outbreak as I think I had one 3 months ago, but it was very small, not painful at all, and lasted only two days which is why I believe that outbreak may have been from something else and that this is truly my initial outbreak. This outbreak has been a nightmare as I have struggled to eat and even speak at times.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your pain. Her kissing you then performing oral sex on you will not spread the infection .
