Can I pass genital herpes?

My wife and I both have genital herpes.  If we have oral sex can we pass genital herpes to our oral region?  I read somewhere that our bodies are immune to it orally since we already have it in the genitalia.

it's really low risk in general, even if you didn't realize the virus was actively shedding and performed oral on your partner.

the only precaution to take is to avoid performing oral on active genital symptoms. otherwise it's incredibly unlikely either of you would contract hsv2 orally.

Have fun :)
