No. If you get a blood test it will tell you exactly what you have. If it says you are infected with something it means you are. There are no false positives. However, there are false negatives so you should make sure you get tested frequently. The test will NEVER mistake one disease/infection for another. Hope this helps!
hpv is a different virus. Are you asking about hpv or hsv ( the virus that causes genital herpes )?
