Can i get HSV2 from giving oral sex

Hey-

My girlfriend has recently been diagnosed with Herpes2. I have Herpes 1 and get cold sores about twice a year.

She is currently on valtrex. When she is not having an outbreak, I would like to know if i perform oral sex on her, can i get herpes2 in the genital area?

how was your gf diagnosed?  what testing did you both have?

She went to the Gyno and tested positive for genital herpes (swab test).

I have never been tested for herpes 1 but i get cold scores. After hearing she tested positive for herpes 2, I got a blood test and tested negative.

If you would perform oral sex on your gf and contracted hsv2 from her, it would be hsv2 orally. You can't get it on your genital area unless you have contact between your genital area and hers. make sense?
