Can itbe any form of herpes

Hi
I have had a very strong burning feeling on the area around my lips (especially above upper lip- te area between nose and lip but closer to lip). I don't know whats the reason for it. I just once had 2 blisters but since I have an acne problem for more than last 6 years, I thought it might be because of so. But since then there have been no blisters but burning has continued for 4-5 weeks. The doc advised an anti-allergy medicine but didnt help. So, advised me to go for a HSV test when the blisters appear (but they haven't and the burning has continued).

Can the cause still be any type of Herpes. Please help.

I am not using anything on my lips. But I haven't still had any breakouts.

you can get a blood test done even without symptoms.

are you putting anything on your lips like aveeno lip treatment or anything?

Thanks Grace for your response.

Its actually hurting me a lot. And I am unable to figure out the reason.

For HSV test, is it neccessary to have blisters and then go for test or one can have it anyday?

symptoms lasting this long aren't likely to be related to herpes at all. continue to follow up on this with your dermatologist.

even if you do have hsv1 orally, it's not going to cause you to have these sorts of symptoms for this long like this.
