Can saliva transmit herpes?

I have HSV Type 2, and am asymptomatic, and had a sexual encounter with a man who had a live cold sore, he did not perform oral on me, but I did on him, and we had sex, but without a condom. I know that I could only get his herpes from direct contact with his cold sore. I'm just wondering, he ended up spitting on my vagina and using it as lubrication, is it a high chance that I could have HSV-Type I as well? He did not kiss me, and we did not let his mouth touch my body in any way possible.

hsv2 gives you significant protection against hsv1 acquisition. Not 100% but it's helpful.

This really isn't a scenerio to worry about to be honest.

Using saliva for lube in general isn't the best idea. Use a good quality lube so there's less risk of vaginal infections from normal mouth flora not being so normal in the genital area.
