Can someone tell me what's going on?

HELP!

I took a herpes non type- specific test and am completely confused by the results.

IgM says negative: 0.5 The IgG says positive at 1.4. Nurse said that I don't have herpes, but why then does the IgG say positive? This doesn't make any sense. I've never had cold sores or a genital herpes outbreak in my entire life, and neither has my boyfriend.
The only person that my boyfriend has had unprotected sex with was his first girlfriend, the one who he broke his virginity with a long time ago, and she was also a virgin.
The only people I have had unprotected sex with were my two ex boyfriends: one of them was a virgin and the other, had only slept with one other woman before (protected) sex. I got tested after all of that and everything was negative.

I've hooked up with other men before in the past, before I met my current boyfriend, and it was protected vaginal sex all the time. I had unprotected oral sex, however once again let me repeat that I have never, ever had any cold sores on my mouth in my entire life, ever. I really don't think I have any herpes at all, but here I am, freaking out about anything down there in my vag area.

I heard that older generations of the ELISA herpes test (non-type specific?) are more prone to false positives. This would make sense because the nurse told me that the herpes test that I took was picking up other viruses that I've had in the past, like chicken pox and it was messing with the results. Considering that the test that I took was a non-specific herpes test, assuming the results weren't a false positive...I still don't know what kind of herpes that I have. It could even be picking up chicken-pox from my childhood, which is a form of herpes. So...can someone tell me what's going on?! So upset right now.

Because they are not aware. Total waste of your time and money.

So...
You're saying that my non type-specific herpes test (IGG) is meaningless? Why do they administer these tests if they're no good? Thanks for your help...I really appreciate it.

Hi, we dont use IgM for many reasons including a false positive issue only igG and the combination test showing a low positive is meaningless. If you spent money on these you should ask for a refund and have the type specific test.
