Can you get Herpes from a hand shake?

Recently I was at a dinner party and I noticed a guy had a sore on his lip. It looked like it had a scab over it; He touched it often. After dinner I went to leave and shook his hands. I immediately went into the bathroom and hashed mine. My question is if he had herpes on the lip and I shook his hand what are my chances of getting infected?
