Can you get herpes from bath water

Hi,
I work in a care home and one of the clients had some type of blisters or sores on her genitals. Not sure if it is herpes or not, but she went for a bath and without thinking I stuck my hand in to drain the water when she was done, as she hadn't drained it. If it is herpes could it be transmitted this way? The tub was also cold already by the time I drained it if this makes any difference.

Hi, no, you cannot contract herpes that way. Needs direct skin contact.
