Can you have herpes whitlow and not genital or oral herpes?

Is it possible to have visible herpes whitlow on your hand but never had visible cold sores or genital sores? Basically would it be pretty rare to carry hsv-2 with no sores on your genitals but sores on your hands?  Also how long does a whitlow outbreak last?  Is it possible for them to not hurt?  I have no genital sores or oral sores but I do have these bumps on my finger and they have been there since last august and now recently I recieved one on each of my thumbs and they ulcerated.  I'm trying to figure out if there is a chance if this is herpes whitlow or just a couple of warts.  They also have never hurt.

well you've been given advice from me about this a few months ago. if you haven't follow up on these things properly, that's your loss since it's obviously still on your mind.

herpes would've healed within a few weeks and been gone.

I've never had them looked at because I assumed they were just warts because of how long they have lasted but now they are starting to ulcerate after I treated them with apple cider vinegar and I'm not sure if warts ulcerate or not.  If it was whitlow they would be gone within a month and they would hurt like hell right?
