Can you pass herpes by using same towel?

For a few months now I have been sharing towels with my 5 yr old son and 9 month old daughter. I wasn't aware that I shouldn't. A few months ago my 5 yr old son had some kind of cluttered blister type area on his chin. I took him to see his doctor and his doctor didn't know what it was. Well recently my 9 month old daughter has a area on the back of her shoulder that kinda looks like it could be herpes. The bumps dont really look blister like but they are cluttered together...My question is could I have passed my genital herpes on to them by using the same towels after bathing? I am freaking out feeling so horrible. :(

the not sharing towels is for everyone - not just folks with herpes.  It's just a good hygiene practice not to do so.

we don't look at pictures here. why not is explained in our read before posting post on the forum.

your child would not have herpes on this many body parts. You'll get better answers tomorrow and then you can relax :)

Thank you so much for commenting. She has a doctors appointment tomorrow they didn't have any open for today. :/

Honestly I didn't know sharing towels were bad because i figured we're clean after bathing..? Stupid I know :/

Now she has a little red area on the top of her hand.. and I have a very small red itchy area on the top of my foot. And the bumps on the back of her shoulder aren't red or anything, there's just a few all cluttered together they kinda look blistery now. Can I post pictures on here or maybe send you some?

we don't recommend sharing towels, washcloths, toothbrushes, razors or body puffs - all are good ways to spread very common germs amongst family members.

did you transmit your genital herpes to your children from sharing towels? no you did not.

has your daughter been seen yet? it's the rashy time of the year between bugs, poison ivy and sweating.
