Candida or Herpes

I have had an outbreak of sores on my vagina for about a month now. My husband said they look like small pimples in a group. I went to the hospital and he did a pap on me. After the pap he said that it looked like I have a diaper rash and Candida. He didn't even receive the results of the herpes or hpv test yet and he diagnosed me with Candida. Is this a fals diagnosis, because I fear that it is herpes. This is the second time I have been broken out. They are small red sores, they itch and are painful and sometimes I have discharge.

At this point I recommend both you and your hubby get type specific herpes igg blood tests just so you know your status so that in the future, you won't worry about herpes each time you get a rash. Odds are that neither of you have ever been tested for herpes before.

Candida is yeast. It's incredibly common in the genital area and can cause rashes. It's also fairly easy to diagnose- just look at some of your vaginal secretions under the microscope.    Did they prescribe you medication to treat it?
