Can't get tested

Can't get tested

Hey,
I'm incredibly worried about a rash and what looks like an outbreak following sex that occurred about a month ago with an asymptomatic HSV2 negative partner. Three weeks after sex I had about a week of burning itch on my vulvar region just below my vaginal opening, followed by a lesion on the right side (possibly caused by scratching), and about two days later a 'kissing' lesion on the left side. The itching stopped when the lesions appeared, but they're pretty sore. Too, the lymph nodes in my groin are quite tender and sore.
I trust my partner and don't have high-risk sexual practices, but am worried that I have maybe contracted HSV1 even though my partner had no signs of any kind when we had sex and has had none for the month following.
I desperately wish I could have the lesions swabbed, but can't. I travel for work and can't get into see a doctor for about a month. I'm wondering whether it's possible for me to get tested after the fact, or if I have to wait to see if I have another outbreak to get tested. I've never had a cold sore, but have had recurrent yeast infections and anal fissures. This seems nothing like that, and I'm feeling a little paralysed with anxiety. Any info would help.

Why don't you just go to an urgency care place to get a swab done! You don't need an appointment!
Oh and ask for a blood test from your dr when you do see your normal dr.

best thing to do is find a walk in clinic as was already suggested. get properly tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally while there. if they see any signs of herpes, they can do a lesion culture and typing for you.

I guess I should be more specific, I travel in isolated areas for work and have no access to a walk-in clinic either. If I did I would be there, asap. One of the lesions has already healed, and the other one seems as though it's almost there as well. So swabbing the lesions is an unlikely possibility.
Is my best option to get a blood test, then?

I really discourage you from thinking this has to be herpes actually. Odds are it's something non-herpes going on which is why a proper exam at this point is in your best interest.

It's best to be seen now, grace is right it could be something else, and if you wait it will just be worse, and take longer to get rid of it. Altho you are wondering if you can be tested for herpes without swabbing the region, the answer is yes, you can do a blood test, altho they are not accurate if you do the test too early, it could be a false negative, you have to wait about three to four months from your encounter for an accurate result.

Thanks guys, I'll let you know what's up when I get tested. The lesions only lasted about a week. So, I'll go in to get tested, asap. And get a swab if they re-occur.
