No, you don't need to inform future partners. You can only do the best you can do, right? And you've done that.
Well I just tested negative 4 months after last exposure for herpes 1 and 2 with the herpes select after being with a girl who was positive for 3 years. Should I inform future partners? I worry im one of the few who has it and doesn't test positive since i was with her for so long and unprotected much of the time.
The 4% average is based on 2 intercourses per week and variable condom use, most people didn't use them well.
Male to female is about 10%, with the same circumstances.

what is the rate from male to female? 4% seems very low from female to male, I never knew that
Do I understand you correct Terri?
I do plan on testing again 3 or 4 months after we were last together. I've mentally prepared myself to be positive for it. So its only a 4% transmission rate a year for females to males? Even unprotected?
I do plan on testing for it 3 or 4 months after the last time I was with her. So its only a 4% chance of transmission a year without condoms?
OK, if you tested negative 3 years ago, I can't provide you much reassurance. I believe that you will need to test again for more certainty. But the annual transmission rate is 4% from females to males, so it certainly isn't a given that you are infected.

I tested negative 3 years ago at the begining of the relationship. So I'm wondering what the odds are that I'm still negative considering she had it the whole time and we had unprotected sex over the course of 2 years.
If you test negative after three months, you should be fine. I don't know when your last test was that was negative, so I'm not sure how much reassurance to provide for you. Having herpes will not change or alter the results of an HIV test, no, absolutely not.
