Chances of Transmission

Chances of Transmission

All,
31 year old male here with a quick question, maybe to just put my mind at ease. In the past few months I have met a partner whom was diagnosed 3 years ago with GH and has only had an initial outbreak. She appears to have had it in remission since, she has been with two other partners prior to me since her initial diagnosis and has made the comment that none of them have contracted it thus far, protected and dare I say unprotected sex. We have had some heavy petting sessions and the other night, had anal-intercourse and a bit of playing around penis to clitoris rubbing, unfortunately unprotected. Granted I know that a lot of what I hear is time will tell, I suppose I am just looking for some community opinions on what my chances are as far as transmission? considering her remission and our actions and a general consensus?

Thanks,
JY

Just to let you know even tho she is in remission you ALWAYS have a chance of getting herpes you take the chance when you have unprotected sex.  Herpes is nothing to joke with it took a few years for me to show syptoms (symptoms) of herpes so I am not sure who I got it from. Writer please be careful protect yourself if you both contract herpes you will be passing infection back and forth....

I would still get tested in a few weeks to see if you contracted it or not.

There actually is no such thing as herpes being in remission.

At this point it doesn't sound like you know much about your gf's herpes status nor your own from what you've posted. Does she know if she has hsv1 or hsv2 genitally? You should find out how she was tested. Also have you ever been tested for herpes yourself to know your own status?

I see you also posted in the hpv forum.  If you are concerned about herpes an dhpv, why are you having unprotected sex and unprotected genital to genital contact?
