there are false positive issues with the herpes blood tests.
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs/Confusing-Igg-Test-Results/show/771141 is a prior post by HHH that goes into it more and explains why you need additional testing done to confirm your status since you haven't had an obvious lesion to culture.

I have never had any symptons or breakouts. LabCorp ran the blood tests and it states "HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec" and "HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec". So, what you are saying is that I should get a Western Blot or Biokit test to validate? I thought any score above 1.15 was considered positive. This is somewhat confusing. I did have sexual relations with someone who had Herpes but she always took her medication and we did an examination prior to intercourse.
So you don't know for certain you have herpes, based on your test results.
Your HSV2 results are all considered low positive. At this point you need to to confirmatory testing with a Western Blot or Biokit test. Fluctuating numbers mean nothing - all of them are within a low positive range (1.1 - 3.5). About 1/3 of all low positives are actually negative.
Did you ever have symptoms, and if so was a swab/culture done at that time?
Those are the HSV-2 scores. The scores for HSV-1 ranged from 3.0 - 4.0.
Detox is bogus. Disregard it - there's no cure for herpes.
What test did you have done? Was this a combined IgG, IgM or type specific IgG?? Yes, the type of test very much matters. There should be separate values for HSV1 and HSV2.
Has anyone pariciapted in the Resolve Herpes detox process? Does it work? They claim that the Herpes antibodies will remain with you forever but the vrus will be eliminated.
I understand that once you have it the Herpes antibodies remain with you forever - but should the Herpes test score increase over time if you have no further contact? My test scores have been:
June 2009 = 1.65
March 2010 = 2.35
June 2010 = 2.65
Your question is confusing. How were you diagnosed as having herpes? Did you have a blood test? What were the numeric results?
Once you contract herpes, the virus stays in your nerve cells for life.
Do not assume it goes away, although it does have "latency" periods.
I would recommend going on Valtrex or other medications that your Dr. recommends to decrease the instances of outbreaks/shedding.
God bless, AC
