with two different men, last March and last May respectively. I then met my current boyfriend last June, and we have been in a monogamous relationship for the past 9 months. Approximately 8 months ago we started having sex
I was diagnosed with a yeast infection around 7 months ago (Dr. did a culture). Was treated with Diflucan. Symptoms went away but came back. Since that time, I have had pain on / during / after intercourse
, and yesterday went to the Dr. to find I had an abrasion in my vulvar area (near vaginal opening).
This problem has not gone away for the past 7 months, every time I have sex it is painful. I've never had this problem before having intercourse with my boyfriend. Perhaps it is the Pill that is making me dry up? We don't use lube and sometimes it can get dry. However, even after taking a week or two off of sex, I'm still in pain with redness and irritation the next time.
Yesterday went to Dr. he did culture test for both yeast and herpes, gonorrhea and chylamidia. Did not test for BV. Sometimes I do have a thick white discharge, but no odor. He told me he thought it could be herpes, even though my symptoms have never resolved in the last 7 months, I have no open sores/blisters (only an abrasion - maybe from rough sex two weeks ago?) and that the culture test for herpes may be negative, but I still can have the virus. He would not do an HSV blood test.
Has your bf ever had a herpes test to know his status?
Yaz is a different kind of hormonal bc pill. If you are having yeast issues you can try switching to another one and see if you do better on it. Call your doctor and ask to be changed to something else and see if that helps.
It's not likely it's herpes going on this frequently for this long. White discharge is not a symptom of herpes either.
