I'm a bit worried because I am not having an outbreak (if that's what it was) anymore, so they can't get a sample from the blister. I was also informed that I wouldn't be able to get a blood test for three months after potential exposure because the antibodies wouldn't show up or something. Not entirely sure what to do...I asked the guy to go get a blood test, but who knows when that'll happen. Where should I go from here?
It was indeed very unprofessional of the Clinic to lose your results that's very bad, you will have to wait a bit for another test unless you have symptoms that you feel would benefit from a culture swab,Herpes would not show up the day after it would take at least 4 days to a week,so with that in mind I don't think you need worry too much at this stage, you also tested far too early anyways it is best to wait about 2 - 3 months after potential exposure before testing .....

At this point I recommend getting a type specific herpes igg blood test now to see what your status is. If it's not a newly acquired infection and just your first obvious recurrence of a prior infection, it will be reflected on the igg blood test now. If your blood test is only hsv1+ or is negative, repeat it in 3 months and see what it shows then. If you get a return of symptoms before that point, see your provider within 48 hours for lesion culture and typing again.
