Cold Sore on the Neck? Is that possible?

Hi,

I'm really worried that I may have a cold sore on my neck.  I have never had a cold-sore before, so I'm not really sure what to look for...but google images has provided me with some indication.  There are two red sores, very close together and very itchy.  I couldn't help but scratch and now there are two little scabs (gross, i know...im so sorry).  Also, my lymph node on that side is as hard as a little rock.

I have never ever experienced anything like this before.  I thought maybe it was acne, but it's definitely not, it's too itchy.  I thought maybe it was a spider bite, but that doesnt make sense at this time of year...and why would there be TWO sores.

The reason I'm thinking it may be a cold sore, is because I made out with this guy I'm newly dating, and he was kissing my neck A LOT.  Then, a couple of days later, I noticed he was getting a cold sore....and then this thing on my neck happened.

Suspicious, right?  ahhhh

Grace,
Is there a way to tell if a suspicious pimple is in fact a herpe virus?  Would it have to itch?   I've got a couple of pimple like spots on my neck but don't think they ever itched.  I couldn't pop them though.

Alcohol is very drying on the skin. Polysporin is for bacterial infections. Abreva doesn't do much even for oral herpes let alone herpes infections on other body parts.

I'd just leave it alone. Cleanse it with soap and water in the shower daily and that's it.

the best thing to do is to see your provider and let them look at it. Let them know your concerns.  You can get herpes anywhere on your body though the lips and the genitals are the most frequently infected areas.
