Cold sore location swelling at same time every day, but no sore

Hello all, I have what I perceive to be a strange problem. I have HSV-1 orally and my cold sores always appear in the same spot: on the top lip, to the right side but not far from the center of my lip. Every single day for a couple of months (and usually at the same time every day, around 10AM), this spot swells up and turns red. There's also another spot on the bottom lip, same side, that turns a little pink, and also a spot on the top left of my lip that turns a little pink. Most obvious, however, is the "cold sore spot", as I call it. It usually subsides after a few hours, but it's always just a little bit swollen, pretty much all day long for these last couple months.

My question is whether you all think this is the virus being in a constant state of "activation". My concern of course is passing it to my HSV-1 negative husband. I don't take suppressive Valtrex (only as needed), but at this point, I'm starting to think it's time to go down that path. I'm looking at my lip several times a day trying to figure out if it's a cold sore or not.

Recent blood work came back as being low (but not deficient) in B-12 and deficient in D. Is it possible that the redness on my lips (and it's not just swelling, but I also have this weird red tint to my upper lip, almost as if I'm wearing lipliner, which I noticed started around the same time as this swelling) is due to a deficiency and NOT a raging virus? I started supplementing a week ago with D3 and B-12. I've been using carmex frequently for the last couple of weeks but the redness keeps coming back.

So sorry for the long post, but if anybody has insight, I would be super grateful. I'm sure the stress of wondering if I have a cold sore every day isn't helping.

To be honest I'm stumped. I have a hard time believing that your hsv1 is that consistant. Especially when there's no real outbreak. The fact that it shows up at the same time everyday is really odd. Leads me to believe it's not hsv1 related. You could see your Dr and get on daily suppression therapy and see if it helps. If it works quickly and your not getting the symptoms then you have an answer. What ever you choose, I wish you all the best in finding the answers.
You may want to see a dermatologist as well. Have you been using different make up or is this happening going o natural?

I'm stumped too! I don't really wear makeup, so I can't attribute it to that. I actually went to the doctor today to ask for a daily suppressive, and he told me it's unnecessary and said getting a cold sore every six weeks isn't even that often. Easy for him to say :( I'm going to go to another doctor, but I agree that I have a hard time believing it's hsv1 related. It's gotten to the point where I can expect it around 10 and notice it's gone by 1. Still makes me paranoid. I'm gonna pursue the vitamin deficiencies and see if I notice improvements. Thank you for your help!
You're welcome and seeing a new Dr is the way to go. Every six weeks IS OFTEN!! antiviral have few to no side effects so I don't see the problem in giving that a try.
Do you eat the same foods everyday for breakfast? Maybe it's a food issue. I know that's a long shot but this is an odd situation
Thank you. I was offended when he said six weeks between cold sores wasn't often enough to deal with the "many side effects" of a daily pill. I considered food as well, but I don't eat breakfast (shame on me). Yesterday it crossed my mind that perhaps it's an environmental allergy. I have pretty bad seasonal allergies. I'm going to carry around some Allegra with me for the next couple of days to see if it helps. Thanks again!
And what's worse is he told me that HSV-1 is "only" oral and that I shouldn't have any concerns about passing it to my husband in places other than his lips... Pretty sure everything about what he's saying to me is false. Of course, my husband agreed with him and chided me for acting like I was smarter than the doctors. He doesn't think it's a big deal and that I'm freaking out over nothing, but it really is a deep-rooted fear that I have of giving it to him. Sorry, had to get that off my chest! It's a lonely battle for us, sometimes. :)
I agree with your husband. It's no big deal. That being said you are clearly more educated on hsv1 than your Dr. Most Drs are not well versed in hsv. At least 50% of newly acquired  genital herpes is hsv1. The good thing is it has few if any outbreaks past the initial one.
Yes, eat breakfast. Lol
I do like your husband's attitude toward hsv. If my wife for cold sores I would feel the same way!!
