Cold sore possibility?

I think I had a cold sore during my teenage years, but not sure because I never had another ever since. for argument,s sake let's say I never caught one.

what are the odds of catching herpes 1 from one sip of a drink from someone with a cold sore outbreak?

Very small if any risk at all. Hsv dies very quickly when exposed and most times sharing a drink there would not be enough virus active to infect someone else. Small children are much more susceptible than adults. I wouldn't worry
