Cold sore

I seen something on my lip about a week ago, but thought nothing of it, It got worst and embarrassing, so I went to urgent care, and I find out I have a cold sore. I was very upset when I found out and the fact that a guy gave this to me and didn't even tell me made me even more upset, Ive been taking valtrex, but I need this to go away as soon as possible,it's already been 8 days, and it's still here. I've also used anbesol, and it's not going away, I've never had this, so my question is, is there anything I could take to make this go in a couple of days

Thank you, I will try both. Also another question, when it does go away, does this mean I can't no longer kiss anyone or give oral sex?

The first cold sore will linger the longest plus you didn't start treating it until a couple of days into things.

You can try things like holding an ice cube on it before you have to go out to help decrease the redness so it looks less noticeable.  You can also steep a tea bag and use it as a compress - the tannins in tea leaves help decrease redness and dry out the lesions too. Unfortunately it takes time more than anything.
