First, I'd like to comment on the amount of times I've seen this: "i also have swollem groin lymph nodes, and tingling in my legs, buttox, and tailbone and thighs. What does this mean?I had this today and yesterday." Not just from you, but from a number of people so overly worried that they have herpes. Do you know what that is? It's anxiety. When you get an ob, you get it in what we call the "boxer shorts" area. Usually it starts with tingling, and itching. These are called prodrome symptoms. Then, you get blisters/sores. If you're worried about having HSV 1 or 2, get a blood test. Stop worrying about something you more than likely don't have.
Where is waringblender when I need her?

Most people who contract hsv1 genitally, have very "classic", painful and obvious lesions as signs of infection. it occurs because they don't have hsv1 orally to protect them so they get a very full blown and obvious ob.

Thank grace. Do many women who get genital hsv1 have no symptoms at all? I am curious to know? Also, in the case that I have contracted genital hsv1, but have no symptoms should I inform my partner when I have intercourse? I heard that genital HSV1 asymptomatic does not shed or transmit easily to the genitals and is not of concern.
your symptoms you describe can be due to many things. You don't have genital lesions and unless you do get them, nothing you can do to see if you contracted hsv1 genitally from the oral sex. It's doubtful your ex bf has hsv2 orally to transmit that to tyou.
When you go for your yearly appointment, discuss your general concerns. A herpes blood test will only tell you what you have, not where you have it but if you've never been tested for herpes before, it's helpful info to know. Ideally your herpes igg blood test wouldn't be done until 4 months after the last time you had sex with your ex bf so that you can rule out a hsv2 infection too from genital sex.
does that all make sense?
