Concerns about transmission of HSV1

Here are the facts: I gave oral to my boyfriend yesterday afternoon around 4:00 Pm.  I have a history of cold sores ( last outbreak 4 years ago) on the lips.  He has a history of cold sores as well on his mouth area.

When I woke up at 4:30 AM, I had puffiness on my upper outside lip.  I have been monitoring it all day and I think it is a tiny cold sore. Can I have given my boyfriend Genital HSV1 yesterday? I had no tingling or puffiness yesterday when we were together.  Please help.  I am worried.

If your boyfriend has a history of cold sores, then he is already infected with hsv1, which means he is immune or at least highly resistant to a new infection anywhere else on his body. So, I really doubt you would have given him a new infection on his genitals. I would not worry about it.
