Conclusive Results?

Hi everybody,

A few months back I have strange symptoms on my penis that I thought to be herpes. I had an IgG blood test at 12 weeks (negative for both HSV 1 and HSV 2). My symptoms returned a few days ago so I took another blood test at 16 weeks and that was negative for both HSV 1 and HSV 2.

At 16 weeks are my results confirmed? Should I attempt to find another result for my chronic symptoms? Maybe a persistent yeast infection? I have seen many answers like this on other posts, but I've also seen quite a few websites say a result isn't definitive until at least 6 months?

Has anybody ever tested negative at 16 weeks and tested positive later?

Any answer would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes you would. Your tests are conclusive. 70% will test pos by six weeks. At twelve weeks you're golden.

Hi, you tested negative at the correct window period so you dont have herpes.

I was test negative at one point then a couple of months later I had a red blister I went to the doctor and she said it looked like herpes. She took a swab of it and did a blood test and it came back positive. If you feel unsure go back to another test.
at what month did you test negative? a date would be very informative. I had symptoms on my genitals but I thought it was a yeast infection. It came back which is why I took the test again, and this test still said negative. If i had symptoms twice and it was 4 months wouldn't I have tested positive at this point?
