Condoms

My boyfriend and I were both diagnosed with HPV1 and it was transferred into my vagina. I am not suffering from an outbreak at this time however I was wondering if certain condoms irritate the area and may cause an outbreak? Im concerned because this will be the first time my boyfriend and I may have sex after my first outbreak. My first outbreak happened after he and I had sex the last time. I just want to make sure that I am being completely caution because that initial outbreak was so painful.

I assume you mean hsv1, not hpv1. different viruses completely.

you never answered my previous questions. what testing did you both have done?

My apologies for not answering the questions. I have blood test and 2 different cultures done. I saw two different doctors and they both came back as HSV1. My boyfriend had his mouth swabbed and they diagnosed as oral herpes.

Hi. I have had two different cultures done with two separate doctors. I actually noted what my boyfriend had done separate from how I was diagnosed.

if your  bf is hsv1 + orally and you are hsv1+ genitally then it's not really an issue for you both. just avoid sex anytime you have anything going on genitally to err on the side of caution.

can certain condoms trigger a herpes recurrence? they usually don't but if you find a brand does, certainly try a different brand and see if that helps.

Hi Grace,
At this time my boyfriend isnt showing any signs of an outbreak or having any symptoms. I performed oral sex on him on saturday and at that time we didnt see anything either however today im having a outbreak in my mouth. Is there something I can take to relieve the symptoms over the counter or do i have to call and get a prescription from my doctor? I dont have any visible cold sores on the outside of my mouth just on the inside. I am experiencing a few sores on the roof of my mouth also on the inside of my lip and on the crack of my lips. Please help.

hard to tell if this is oral herpes showing itself or something else.  I'm guessing something else.  you can pick up otc mouth rinses and such for canker sores and other mouth issues.

Thank you so much for your help. I researched throughout the day and I believe it may be canker sores. I will pick up the otc mouth rinses.
