Confused about recent test results.

Okay, so.

I'll try to keep this short; I recently had, what seemed to be, a bacterial infection on the side of my cheek near my eye that consisted of little bumps containing clear fluid; seeing this and becoming concerned with the symptoms that were starting i.e., tingling, slight throbbing, little itching, I decided I'd go to the doctor.

Some prior information - this odd outbreak first started when I was 17-18 and on Accutane, so at the time I just thought I was breaking out in a weird way, but over the past 6-7 years this has reoccurred around times where I was stressed out or eating poorly and really just assumed it was either bacterial or fungal since it kept showing up, for the most part, in the same area but it was never enough of a concern to get tested or see a doctor; I was also not sexually active until the age of 22 when I met my first and current boyfriend whom is the first person I've done anything with - including kissing.

Now, I got a blood test done to confirm whether or not this was a Herpes outbreak and honestly I'm just confused at this point because 1) I was tested when I first became sexually active and everything, including HSV-1&2, came back negative; 2) a few months ago I was tested again due to a scare that occurred within the family regarding a baby family member and the potential spread of Herpes (brother-in-law's mother has Type 1 and everyone was worried it got to the baby and then to everyone else) but that also came back negative; 3) once again, my sister had another baby and wanted me to get the most recent flu shot so a month ago I went back in and received it and while there requested a new test for everything which also came back negative. Now, fast forward to 10 days ago when this outbreak occurred again, and seeing as how there's a fresh human that I've been around, I wanted to make sure I didn't pass on any fungal/bacterial thing; I went to an Urgent Care clinic and was immediately told by a doctor that I had either shingles or herpes and after waiting a few days my test came back negative...until I got a call from the same people saying my test was actually positive. This is honestly fishy because all of my results from the past have been negative and the call I received on the 11th (three days after I went in) said I was still negative, but oh wait - I actually wasn't judging from the call I received today, a full week later. Anyway, I'm confused and the results are below and I'd appreciate any advice/comments! I do plan on seeing my regular doctor sometime this week to confirm.

Tl;dr: Tested negative for Type 1 from various blood tests, then suddenly told I'm positive.

HSV-1 - 31.00 Index (High)
HSV-2 - <0.90

Ok. I will try to help
Hsv1 blood tests can miss up to 25% of infections so Getting negative results when actually positive isn't that uncommon. Next time these blisters show up have them swabbed and pcr tested for hsv. Make sure they type specific test the sample.
I know this us all confusing

Thanks for the response!

Dang, so that would mean that all my other tests had missed that 25% each time... crazy! I'm still a little bit skeptic seeing as how I received that call from the first technician confirming I was negative only to then receive another call from a different one a whole week later. They claimed I was playing phone-tag (I wasn't??) and let me know that I instead contracted H a while ago based on my antibodies; is that why the result is 31.00 (forgive me, but is that considered 3.1?? makes me think my result is higher than the cutoff point!! :P) and do you think it's worth it to do a WB or Biokit test?
No it's 31.00. I would just retest with another igg.
