Confused of hsv results

So my story goes as follows on June 1, 2012 I decided to get tested for stds in Mexico because I had a genital wart which I didn't know what it was at the time and my test results were all negative except for hpv type 11 and hsv 2 at 1.3. I had no symptoms for hsv 2 but I had been reading that hpv might show up and be easier to contract if hsv 2 is present. However, the doctor in Mexico prescribed acyclovir 200 mg 4x a day. I had been reading that when hsv 2 is so low there is a chance that it could be false positive so I waited till October 25, 2012 to get retested for all std but I went to planned parenthood and the nurse told me the test I had been given was an igg and that my test results were negative with a result of .24 all this time I have not had symptoms of hsv 2 and had been taking acyclovir every other day so one day yes the other no and would only take it once so the daily dosage was 200mg up until oct 30 when I got my last results. Btw I had been applying aldara to the warts and I have been wart free for 1 month and no recurrence. My question is should I retest for hsv and how reliable are the results if I had been taking acyclovir on and off?

Meds definitely have an effect on the testing!

Ok thanx I just don't want to have my hopes up and have it be positive although I read on another post that one of your doctors stated that meds had no affect on the results

I agree that this is likely a false positive, but since you tested while taking the medication, I just don't know.  If you were my patient, I would suggest that you take no herpes medicine for three months and, since you had a low positive the first time, get a western blot as you may well get another low positive since you are taking no medicine.
