I recently had blood work done to test for STDs and I got my results back today. I was told that all of my tests were negative including the tests for both HSV-1 and HSV-2 except I tested positive for HSV antibodies. My doctor said she's never seen a result like that before. I've never had any sores, I've only had sex
. Could that be a false positive? Or is it more likely that I have HSV and one/both of the type specific tests were wrong? I'm going to be retested in a few weeks but in the meantime how worried should I be? I'm currently in a new relationship and if I have it I don't want to pass it on to him. I'm not really sure what to do, I feel like I'm in a weird place between a positive and negative test result. Please help. Thanks.
I can better help you figure this out if you can get your actual test results and post their numeric result here - ie hsv1 igg 4. 7 and hsv2 igg . 23 or whatever they are. Call the clinic today and ask them to read you your results and write them down if you don't already have a copy of them.
