Contracting herpes

I have had herpes 2 for 2 years with only one break out.  I take Valtrex every day.  I was wondering, If i have oral sex preformed on me with no break outs, can I give herpes 1 to my partner? Will he get it on his mouth or eyes?   what's the percentage that this could happen if it could?
What's the percentage that I cold pass the herpes 2 too my partner through intercourse?

When you were diagnosed with herpes - how did they do it? do you know if you have hsv1 or hsv2? was it just assumed it's hsv2 because it's genital?

The risk of transmitting to the oral area is very low but it can happen.  Suppressive therapy lowers the risk even more. You can also utilize barrier protection if you and your partner want even more protection.

Also if you have hsv2 and your partner contracts it orally thru performing oral sex on you, it's hsv2 orally they have. it won't turn into hsv1. The type stays the same regardless of the location.
