Contracting oral herpes from kissing? tingling immediate!!

by worried199114, Jan 11, 2009 06:40AM
I kissed a girl last night, and basically immeadiately after (probably 30 minutes or less after), a small section of my lip had a stinging/tingling sensation. From what i could see, she had no cold sores.

Is this oral herpes? this tingling started basically immeadiately.

Can contracting oral herpes cause my lip to start tingling/stinging in such a short period of time?! Or does it take longer for the virus to come into effect, and i'm just being paranoid..

By the way, my lips were very dry, which could be a reason instead..
and it is now about 15 hours later, and this tingling starts and stops.

Should i be worried about oral herpes?

Thanks,
Worried199114

no, a newly acquired oral herpes infection will not cause symptoms 30 minutes after contracting it.
