Could I Have Gotten It?

My best friend's grandma has herpes. When her grandma's herpes was inflamed, she kissed my friend. Three days later, she has a bump on her lip, but it kind of disappeared. I kissed her as a joke, how likely is it that I or even she has herpes?

60% of the adult population has oral herpes; it's incredibly common. No way to know that grandma or another person transmitted it to either of you - many of us get it during childhood, and most of us never have symptoms to know it. Either a swab of an active cold sore or an IgG type specific blood test can tell you your herpes status.
