Could I be suffering a first herpes outbreak?

Four days ago I had protected (vaginal) sex with two CSWs. Since then I started to feel a slight itching in the foreskin of my penis and three days after the event started to feel flu-like symptoms that include fever, fatigue, chesty cough, sore throat and headache. I continue to feel the above itch every so often though until now no sores or blisters have developed. Is it possible that I contracted herpes or some other STI from this encounter?

I've read that the chance of infection outside of an outbreak is very small - but I've also read that it is possible for an outbreak to occur without outwardly visible signs.

The most effective way to avoid this would be to avoid these encounters of course but I'd like to know what kind of risk I have presently and whether it is more likely just to be a coincidence.

Regards and Thanks.

sounds like you have caught a cold or the flu. you haven't had any genital symptoms to make you think this is anything more than an respiratory illness going on.

follow up  with your provider as needed.
