Could I have herpes?

So I am a man and I had unprotected receptive oral sex and protected (with condom) vaginal sex with a girl 12 days ago. Two nights ago I noticed a small painless red lump on my lower abdominal area, on my body right above where my penis meets my body. I have bad skin (moderate folliculitis on my back etc) and I was worried it was a pimple and I wiped my upper groin area down with one of those salicylic acid acne pads (I'd never done that before and now I think it was a bad idea as it might have irritated my skin). The next morning I noticed what looked like a small pimple also in the same area, maybe an inch away. It was painless and last night I tried to pop it. I did a bad job and it scabbed over last night and now looks like a small scab crater with red surrounding it. The initial red bump I had noticed nearby seemed to have faded away completely. All day today I kept on feeling a burning sensation around my upper groin area but maybe that is all in my head, I can't tell. I also feel like the left side of my upper groin is a little tender when I push it like I pulled a groin muscle and I wonder if that is a swollen lymph node. The scabbed lesion isn't painful to touch at all. It is now roughly 48 hours since I first noticed anything weird. I keep obsessively checking the area waiting to see if more lesions will pop up but I haven't seen anything yet. If it is a herpes outbreak is it possible they can appear one by one over several days? It's hard to tell if there are any bumps as I don't shave my genital area and so there is a lot of hair there and small bumps for each hair follicle.

Anyways, I am also wondering:
- Is it possible to have just a single herpes lesion like this?
- This was an area not covered by a condom as it is on my body right where my penis meets my body (above my penis slightly). I assume its possible for a man to get herpes there.
- I've heard herpes is usually painful. Is it possible for the sores themselves to be painless? I feel like I have a warm, maybe mild burning feeling in my general upper genital area but the sore itself is painless when I touch it.
- Even if I make an appointment to see a doctor tomorrow, I'm guessing this scab will be completely healed by the time I get to the doctor (a day or two). I've heard that herpes tends to stay around longer. Any weird pimple I've had in my genital region has disappeared rather quickly (usually a couple of days).
- Otherwise I feel physically completely fine. No fever or malaise and I have plenty of energy.

I know I should go to a doctor and get it looked at it, but some piece of mind as to the possibilities in the meantime would really help.

It's very strange, the second lesion looks a lot like the wikipedia picture of a "boil". The first one has grown very large in just the past few hours. It seems like it is deeper in the skin than most of the herpes pictures I've seen, most of which seem to be blisters that lie on the surface, Still, I'm pretty worried cause it would be a strange coincidence if this happened to occur 12 days after a sexual encounter.

I agree it sounds more like a boil than a herpes lesion. Usually hsv lesions are clustered and small. This surely doesn't sound like hsv

It is possible for there to be one lesion. It's also possible to have one and others can follow. That being said I highly doubt hsv in this case. That area isn't often infected and the hair offers some protection. Sound more like a garden variety pine or ingrown and not herpes.

Thanks for your response, feelingundone. I made an appt with my dermatologist but earliest I could get is Tuesday (4 days from now). Whatever it is, it may likely be healed by then and I might end up having to cancel the appt.

I noticed the original bump is back and has turned red. The are both actually fairly large. Not like the tiny clusters of herpes bumps I've seen in pictures. They are two isolated ulcers, about an inch apart. The original, that I aggressively tried to pop a couple days ago,  is a large red crater with a dark yellow scab in the middle (it fell off in the bath last night and came back). The other is red with a tiny yellow spot in the middle (maybe a tiny scab?). Neither are painful. In fact, the pimple I presently have on my buttock (defiinitely not herpes) is far more painful to the touch.

What felt to me like tender lymph nodes in my groin is gone today. I wonder if they will respond that way to bacterial infections (such as pimples) in the groin area, like they can do for herpes?
