Could this have caused an outbreak?

Hi,

I was diagnosed with Genital HSV-1 about a year and a half to two years ago.  I recently (Aug 31) went for some surgery.  I also had a small bronchitis infection before I went in and now my bronchitis has gotten worse.  I went to the doctor yesterday and he told me I had some phlegm in my lung and a very red and sore throat.  I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis that is somewhat active right now.  Now....I think that I have a case of HSV-1 around my anus. Hard to tell though as I can't stick my head back there to look!  lol!  Do you think all this stress could have brought out an attack of the HSV-1?

I think all this stress could well have brought out an outbreak.

Have your tried a mirror.. just kidding.   don't look at your own thing down there.   Have a physician decided/analyze that.   Herpes outbreak symptoms are obvious and painful.

Thanks for your help.  Yep I think it was a small outbreak.  Started taking lysine and it has started to heal up right away.

Does genital hsv-1 shed all the time?  I only get an outbreak once or twice a year.

lysine doesn't help speed the healing of herpes lesions. we don't recommend it's use for herpes because it's really not effective at all.

no, genital hsv1 doesn't shed all the time. have you ever read the herpes handbook?
