Curious about a sore throat

I am curious about a new sore throat I have.   My partner and I let the heat of the moment get the best of us and we had unprotected sex including oral sex.   My girlfriend has herpes, I do not (yet)..she did not have an outbreak at the time we had sex.  The next day less than 24 hours later, I came down with one hell of a sore throat and a recurrent fever that was as high as 102.2, my whole body hurt and I felt like I had the flu or strep throat of some kind.  Its been 4 days now, i stillhave a sore throat that is not as bad as it was.  The fevers are gone.   I have no cold sores, no blisters, no genital problems.   Is there a chance this is causing my sore throat and fever?

This could be you getting sick.  Herpes would not show up in 24 hrs.  Be seen by your provider for a proper work up.  This was a low risk for HSV.
