Do I have herpes?? IgG Negative IgM Positive

About a month and a half ago I discovered a craterlike hole on my shaft (penis). I went to my GP and he said it was a burn (had sex a lot with GF) and gave me lotrisone. After a week it got worst and I new something was wrong. It was circular in shape and at first it leaked a clear fluid with bad odor., also it burned, painfull and I notice that 2 blisters were slowly appearing and joining the what seemslike ulcer to form a bigger one. I went to my dermatologist (almost 4 weeks had passed) and he suggested herpes, syphilis or chancroid. Of course he gave me Cipro, an ointment, penicillin shot and  Valtrex. A week and a half ago there were also some blisters that poped rapidly some clear fluid ( like five of them) but hours later they formed a black scab (they also hurt)and had lots pain in my left leg and left groin.
I got my lab results (which I went a week ago)  and they were negative for siphilis, IgG negative (negative for herpes) and IgM positive. My doctor said I am not infected allthogh I am still treating the ulcer and since it has healed but has taken a month ans a half.
My GF labs were positive for Herpes II IgG Positive and IgM negative and she has never had an outbreak, allthough she did have an infection while having sex.
I was wondering if a month and a week is enough to say that the IgG test is valid or do I retest iin a month??

A newly acquired herpes infection can take weeks/months to be reflected in herpes igg blood testing. with your gf being hsv2+, following up on this properly to confirm your status is important. It's unfortunate that you never had a lesion culture of your active symptoms to get you faster results.

At this point, wait another 2 months and repeat your herpes igg blood test. should you get a return of genital symptoms before then , be seen within 48 hours of their appearance for a lesion culture and typing.
