Do I have "oral Shingles"?

by Patyn, Aug 24, 2009 07:54AM
I have had an unbelievably sore "canker" on the tip of my tongue for about a week, along with lots of mucous, tingling and tiredness.  I have tried so many rinses and canker treatments with no success.  It is difficult to eat and the pain wakes me up at night.  I had Shingles over a year ago and subsequently had the Shingles vaccine, but I am getting itching and tingling in the spots where the Shingles were.  I had colon surgery 6 weeks ago and suspect that my immune system is running on low.  What can I do to treat whatever this is?
