herpes symptoms are constant - not off and on.
Thank you so much for the positive reassurance :). I also forgot to mention, about a week a go I was experiencing some occasional tingling sensations in my penis. Specifically, the upper half below the penis head and on the penis head itself. It was on and off for about three days. It was not painful at all. More like a tickling feeling. Very noticeable though. It isn't occurring now, but I was wondering is this a symptom of herpes or is it just me focusing too much on that area that my anxiety is causing that? Also, I am still outbreak free at this point. And for the first half of the day yesterday I had pain in my scrotum. I'm not sure if that's a herpes symptom, but I just wanted to point that out as well. My last and biggest concern at this point is the tingling feeling. Otherwise, I feel fine at this point and it has been 49 days since my sexual encounter with my female friend who has it. Also, I haven't had sex since.
no, you won't contract herpes that way.
no, herpes doesn't cause vertigo. you sound like you had a viral infection of a non-std related nature as are very common this time of the year.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Also, even if she was shedding, can the virus transfer from touching the condom when taking it off and then my penis? I am a bit concerned about the vertigo as well because my doctor said how herpes can cause vertigo. The vertigo that lasted 5 Mins with temporary high fever happened two days after the exposure. I felt sweats but it only lasted minutes..
nothing you've mentioned sounds herpes related at all.
the risk of contracting herpes from a one time protected encounter from someone on daily suppressive therapy without symptoms is incredibly low. It's not even worth testing for unless you have a regular partner to protect.
