Do your research on HSV 1 and 2

Long story short:

1. STD test at Planned Parenthood, tested 24, results received Apr 8
     -Partner was experiencing symptoms of chlamydia, he came back clean
     -I got 'diagnosed' with genital herpes, HSV-2 at 2.29 (no HSV 1 result reported)
     -16+ weeks since previous partner, sufficient for recommended wait time (12-16 weeks)

2.  Re-tested at private lab testing company, Apr 8
     -HSV-1 at >5.0; HSV-2 at 2.35

3.  Gynocologist visit, Apr 12
     -Not very helpful  or willing to discuss my previous results, never heard of Western Blot or Biokit
     -Obtained Western Blot lab prescription

4.  Western Blot serum received at UW, Apr 13

5.  Western Blot results received, Apr 25
     -Positive for antibody HSV 1; Negative for antibody to HSV-2

Do your research and don't take one person's opinion, be it a doctor or counselor.  This experience changed my life and I have since become celibate.
