Does Herpes ever present as one sore?

I went to the doctor today and she said that I have herpes (the test results from the scraping she did haven't come back yet) However I have studied medical information and normally herpes presents as more than one sore.

The spot that I have is on the inner aspect of my right labia. There is only one whitish plaque shaped spot.

Yes I have been sexually active. However the last partner I was with only gave me oral and we kissed. I do not have any spots on or around my mouth only this one spot on my genitals

how can u tell if u have herpes or a Chancroid with 1 single sore that has a whiteish cover, looks like a cut on the bottom of the shaft. there is no burning when urinating, no redness or raised sore, no blood outline. the sore is about 1/8 in size vertical

And about a week ago I went in to the doctor because I had pain with urination and he gave me antibiotics and the pain went away. and now I have pain again when I urinate and now there is discolored skin. no red outline, no bubble looking blisters. just discolored skin.

I haven't had any of the other symptoms just this white spot that hurts if I touch it or when urine drizzles over it.

just the lesion culture and I am still waiting to find out.

It looks similar to photos on the internet described as herpes. But it is just a whitish plaque that pretty much looks like a burn.

Herpes doesn't always present as multiple lesions.  the problem is that most folks who are assuming that it's a newly acquired infection, are actually just having a recurrence - about 1/2 of all presumed newly acquired infections aren't so you can't assume anything from the number of lesions.

did you also have any blood work done or just the lesion culture?

The reason that I mentioned the kissing is because we kissed more often than I recieved oral. So why has there not been any spots around my mouth? If it is infact herpes?
