Does this sound like herpes?

by Imscared400, Dec 03, 2008 07:31PM
I am a 21 year old male and I would really like some insight on my situation. About 7 weeks ago I had way too much to drink and went home with a girl. We had sex and she told me that she has herpes. I was extremely intoxicated so I dont remember the details very well, but I know that a condom was used. I asked her the next day if she was having an outbreak and she said that she had never had an outbreak, but a blood test that she took about a year prior told her that she was had HSV2. I freaked out the next day, and I've been worried ever since. I did some research on herpes. About 4 days later I had a single bump on my penis, it didn't hurt and it went away in about a week. One week after that I found another bump similar to the first. It did not hurt and it went away in a week. I have not experienced any red rash, itching, pain, or even blisters for that matter (unless these bumps were some sort of blister that wasn't obvios.) I've actually had bumps that looked like that before when it couldn't have been herpes, but I'm still worried. I'm going to get tested next week, but I'm really scared. First I'd like to ask if these bumps sound like herpes to anybody? Secondly, what do you think my chances are of not having contracted the virus? I would also like to ask if it is true that a person with herpes 1 is less likely to get herpes 2 because I have had cold sores before and am hoping that maybe that lessens my chance of having herpes 2. Please help!

These bumps that I had were on the shaft of my penis and not on the head, if that helps

At this point you need to be heading to your doctor. You can contract hsv2 from a one time protected encounter but the risk is very low.  It's likely something else is going on but you'll need seena nd professionally examined at this point.
