Does valtrex affect blood test results?
Hello I have a couple questions I had a possible exposure on 12/03 I experienced no symptoms of herpes I had a yeast infection and an allergic reaction to a condom about a couple weeks after (I had not been using condoms for the last 6 years b/c I was in a long term relationship) I was experiencing some crawling sensations but that was it. I was tested for all stds and waited to test for herpes till 4 weeks out the nurse that read my results read them wrong told me I had HSV 1 (that I have had since I was a child) and HSV 2 so I went back b/c I didn't believe it and had them re test at 6 weeks and then started Valtex then at that time the DR looked at my new results and my old ones and said they were both Neg for HSV 2 and apologized for the misunderstanding told me to stop the meds and that I was fine... I was really messed up in the head convinced I had it and kept taking the meds.
I then switched DRs and had all new stds ran including a cultur for HSV came back neg for everything... I was fine for awhile then had my paragard IUD put in 01/26 and had my 1st wax and 3 days later got swelling at the enterance of my vagina and my valva was buring, also some burning after I would go pee. They looked saw nothing abnormal ran tests nothing came back except pos for UTI eventually it went away. The swelling took a bit longer to go but it wasn't really that bad anyway then it came back this week not as bad the swelling and burning vulva and burning after not during urination mainly in the morning. I have been taking Valtrex the whole time I have been so freaked out I have not been able to stop I had another test done at 14 weeks and it was also neg for HSV 2 and POS for HSV 1.
This are my questions:
1) Do these sound like herpes symptoms?
2) Does Valtrex realy affect my results even at 14weeks?
3)How conclusive are my tests at 4weeks and 6 weeks Valtrex free?

I Have a bump/sore and I am not sure if its herpes or what.
Its on my labia majora (hairy part of my vigina) its small, hard and was flesh colored I've had it for about 20 days it didn't hurt or anything and didn't change size. Last night I started messing with it and tried to pop it. It took a lot of force (pinching and picking) but finally it started to bleed and had some clear fluid come out but mostly blood. Now it really hurts and its red basically stabbed it with my nails. Does this sound like a herpes sore?

The difference in your HSV 1 score means nothing. The IgM is notoriously inaccurate. Taking Valtrex for 12 weeks can impact your antibody test, yes. You should stop it and test about 12 weeks later.

For about 12 weeks.. my 1st test was st 4 weeks and it came up neg but there was some experimental test igm test that showed Titer on both HSV 1 AND HSV 2 so they told me I was positive I had them retest for hsv 2 two weeks later and it was negitive they said it was a mistake but I had a 6 mth supply of valtrex called in already and just kept taking it. I have had more test done since and all are neg except my hsv 1 but the antibodies have gone from a 4.08 to a 5.00 is that normal?

Okay what about the testing are my test results at 18 weeks conclusive I was on antivirals at the time?

Herpes does not make a red vulva or produce white discharge. The discharge associated with new herpes is like water. Your symptoms sound like yeast to me.

Thank you for your answers how ever I have not had waxing done in a while now and I am currently experiencing a very red vulva and I had some white discharge my dr called me in yeast meds but I am still all red I don't believe thats what it is... What color is herpes discharge? And will Antivirals still be effecting my test results at 18 weeks? Please I am desperate for answers I don't know what is wrong with me...

I am trying to but I continue to have irritations and I don't understand why... I just had my 4th test done at 18 weeks and its still negative. Could I have possibly gotten HSV 1 now in my genital area even after having it for 20 years on my nose?

Yes, I think you should accept that a mistake was made in giving you the results and stop taking the medication and believe your test results. If this was a friend of yours and they described this situation, what would you recommend for them?

I don't think that your white dots are herpes as these usually present as painful blisters that burst, crust over and then heal after which they go away completely until you have another outbreak. It is probably best to have these white dots and bumps checked by a doctor for your own peace of mind.

I had test done at 4 weeks, 6 weeks, and 14 weeks after exposure to a person that may or may not have herpes... My current sex partner is neg. I am still taking it b/c I was so freaked out from them telling me I did have it (the nurse making a mistake reading my hsv 1 results) that I just mentally haven't been able to convince myself I don't have it and I had a 6 mths of refills so I just kept taking it. I stopped getting waxed and the irritations seemed to have gone down. So you think my tests are conclusive and I should stop freaking out? Someone on here told me that my last test was worthless b/c I was on Valtrex is this true?

No, this sounds like a reaction to waxing. When you say you had a test at 14 weeks, 14 weeks from what? Have you had a new sex partner? I'm missing the whole 4 and 6 weeks meaning here.
