I have a questions about some IGG results. I had an initial outbreak at the end of October. My doc had me get an igg blood test saying that it may come up positive this early, and despite hearing
otherwise against it, I went ahead and got tested. Well, she called me a week later, and said the both types came back negative. I wasn't surprised, and went back to waiting.
Well, i was in the office to see her on an unrelated issue the other day, and she pulled out my test results, and there was a (I think low) positive for HSV type 1, with a value of 1.84, and HSV2 at .15 . I had this this test taken however 3-4 weeks after my initial outbreak. I can't really tell what date I was exposed to it, since I was having frequent sex
with my partner, so I suppose I could have had the virus for even longer.
Despite it being an early positive, would you say its still accurate? My partner at the time said he did have history of oral cold sores, but had never experienced anything on his genitals. I've been so confused these past 3 months, so I'd like to know if these results are accurate or not!
only reduce transmission of herpes by 30% so if your lesion culture wasn't typed, you need to wait and repeat your herpes igg blood test to confirm if it's hsv1 or hsv2 you contracted.
