I just got my STD test and i have no idea what it means. It reads HSV IGM AB screen detected. 1:80 < 1:10 titer.
HSV 1 IGG, Herpeselect w-RFL
HSV 1 IGG Herpeselect AB .79 < .90
HSV 2 IGG Herpeselect AB .08 1.10 Positive
The doctor wrote "Looks like a new herpes exposure."
The igm should've never been drawn in the first place. Your provider is erring if they are telling you you have a newly acquired hsv infection based on the igm. http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/248394 is a terrific former post by HHH on why the igm shouldn't ever be used for the purpose of diagnosing herpes.
Your igg's are negative. Has your partner been tested? When was the last time you had sex
What does it mean i my igm is negative?
The last three years I have been with two guys. One of them was my boyfriend and we both got tested. The last guy I slept with had a std test two months ago and I saw the paper. He's clean. It doesn't make sense to how i would get herpes.
In the paper it read "the test does not distinguish between HSV1 and HSV2." So, do I have herpes 2 virus or could this be false?
Perhaps you need to provide us with a few more details because your reply doesn't make sense after my reply to you.
Have you had genital lesions that were cultured as hsv2 and you've had this blood work done too? Ws thi sjust a general screening to see what your herpes status is?
