False Negative possibilities?

I just read this personal story. It states "You can test false negative, over and over, whether or not you exhibit the classical signs of herpes. You can have the disease for years, and still test negative. Herpes likes to hide." I would just like to know the validity of that statement. I tested negative myself three time at 12 weeeks, 4 months, and 6 months. On herpeselect Elisa. I was very paranoid for awhile, and now reading that staement it knd of scares me. Is it possible to test negative for years and suddenly have an outbreak? Thanks.

Referenced story, quote is at the end of number 5:

Hi, the statement makes no sense. Even the best test miss only 10% of infections. It does like to hide but the antibodies give them up! Test are not testing for them but for our bodies natural imune defense and this does not hide.
