False Positive?

I have only had one sexual partner.  9 weeks after our last encounter (a few protected times of sex, and one, very brief unprotected encounter)  I got tested for all STDs,  and came back negative for everything except I had 1.14 for HSV-2 using the HerpeSelect Test.  I talked to the girl, and she got tested negative for HSV-2 - so this would be a negtaive test for her, and she had not been with a guy other than me for the 5 months before the test.   Neither of us have ever had herpes symptoms either.  Since this number is really low, and my only partner teste negative,  my doctor said to forget about it since it is more than likely a false positive?  which apparentally are not uncommon?   What do you guys think?   Just forget about the matter and keep an eye out for any possible lesions?

Its most likely a false positive - its a very low number, and your only partner is negative.

You can confirm if you want, but there probably isn't any need to.

HerpeSelect Test.     Does that change anything?  Or is it still accurate that she is negative, and thus mine was probably a false positive?

Yes this is very likely to be a false positive for you.

Do you know what blood test your gf had for herpes?
